Mandatory Date Night

Jason is currently finishing up his last class at The Master’s Seminary – The Pastor’s Home. This class is only offered at night during the summer, and, because of his class/work schedule over the past few years (class during the day, work at night), it has been almost impossible for him to take this class until now. The class discusses various issues that a pastor, and his family, will face in ministry. Wives are welcome to attend this class with their husbands. We had family visiting for graduation, and our usual baby-sitters (Auntie Jo, Grandma, and Grandpa) have been busy, so tonight was the first class activity that I was able to participate in!

Class tonight was cancelled so the guys could complete their assignment: to take their wives on a date. And the wives get to do the grading! I had to laugh when I heard this – after all, I married the guy! I think that would indicate that he passed “dating.” However, I do think that this “mandatory date night” concept should be introduced into every seminary class. I think it might make the whole process a little more enjoyable! It was nice to have my husband all to myself for a few hours.
