Thinking Biblically, Traditions & Celebrations

Reformation Day

“Unless you can convince me by Scripture and pure reason, and not by popes or councils who often contradict each other, unless I am so convinced I am wrong, I am bound by my beliefs to the text of the Bible. My conscience is captive to the word of God. To go against conscience is neither right nor safe. Therefore, I cannot and will not recant. Here I stand. I can do no other. God help me.” ~Martin Luther

On this day in 1517, Martin Luther nailed the 95 Theses to the door of All Saints’ Church in Wittenberg, Germany.

It began with this one:
1. When our Lord and Master, Jesus Christ, said “Repent,” He called for the entire life of believers to be one of repentance.

(You can read the rest of them here.)

Happy Reformation Day!!
