Hannah Elisabeth, Mommyhood

Saturday Snippets

I love this girl.

(Of course, unless you are extremely new to this blog, you probably already knew that.)

She is one of the most interesting people I know.  I love talking with her, and hearing all that is going on in that little brain of hers.  She has a serious side.  But, she also knows how to have fun, and can be downright silly at times…and she can always make me smile.

From last night…in the car:

Daddy: “Ew. I smell a skunk.”
H: “I don’t smell anything. I must have a nose infection.”

From this morning:

“Mom, can we get an owl for a pet?”
Um, no.
“What about a bat?”
A what?! No.
“Well, then can I get a porcupine?”

Where in the world does she come up with these?!?

From this afternoon:

“Hey mom, did you know that a whale’s tongue can weigh as much as an elephant?”

Um, no. I had no idea.

And, just in case you were wondering…she’s right!

A blue whale’s tongue weighs around 2.7 metric tons (3.0 short tons).  An elephant can weigh anywhere from 2.5 – 5 tons, depending on the species and age.
