Hannah Elisabeth, Life, Mommyhood

Big Girl = Big Girl Bed

It’s official, there is no longer a baby in this house…

Hannah finally made the switch from crib to toddler bed!  Yes, I know she is almost 2 and ½…I have been putting it off as long as possible!  Until yesterday, she really had not made any serious attempts at escaping the confines of her crib, and seemed fairly content with the arrangement.  (We won’t mention the fact that she has apparently been able to climb into the crib for some time…but Mommy didn’t know about that!!)

So, after her “nap” yesterday afternoon (which really only consisted of several daring, escape-artist feats, followed by some “quiet time” in her room), Jason got to work removing the side rail, and converting the crib into…a toddler bed!

When he was done, I brought Hannah in to see her new bed…She immediately climbed in, and said “Mom, this is cool!”  She loved it!

We put her to bed at 7:30, and she has slept well.  I, on the other hand, have not slept nearly as well, as I have spent the night listening for that “thump.”  But, so far, so good!  As I type she is still snuggled safely in her “new” bed!

UPDATE:  When I went in to get Hannah up this morning (at 7:30 – she had been awake since about 6:45!), she was patiently sitting on her bed, reading books to Duckie, Tigger, and her teddy bears, waiting for me!  When she saw me she said, “Mommy, I not get out of bed.  I was waiting for you!”  (She did ”confess” that she had gotten out of bed to get duckie, because he fell down.)  She is such a good girl!
